Home Repair Program

Do you own your own Home?  Do you need help with repairs? 

Habitat has a new Home Repair program that could help you with your home.

We are launching our brand-new Home Repair Program, an opportunity designed to enhance the energy efficiency of your  home. Our Home Repair Program places a special emphasis on energy-efficient improvements and will begin with HVAC system replacements. It’s important to note that while the home repairs we offer are not free, we provide 0% interest loans to make these improvements accessible to a wider range of individuals. The repayment structure is designed with flexibility in mind and is based on a sliding scale that considers your income.

Home Repair Program Criteria

  1. Need: The home is in need of a engery efficient repair that is within HFHRV’s scope of work and the homeowner is unable to physically and/or financially complete the repair themselves.
  2. Ability to Pay: The homeowner is required to pay a portion of the repair cost based on a sliding scale that considers the homeowner’s income. 
  3. Residency: The home in need of repair must be the homeowner’s primary residence and must be located in HFHRV’s service are (Madison or Limestone County). The homeowner must be current on property taxes, mortgage payments (if applicable), and homeowner’s insurance premiums. 
  4. Willingness to Partner: The homeowner must be present during the duration of the repair work. 

It’s important to act promptly if you wish to secure a slot for HVAC replacement this year, as our availability is limited. We encourage you to submit an interest form below.

The information you provide will be used to identify your interest in the Habitat for Humanity of the River Valley’s Home Repair Program. Please note that the information you are about to submit is NOT an application but simply a pre-questionnaire. The application process involves income verification, a background check, a credit history review, and other factors that you have not been asked for yet. There is no guarantee you will qualify for the program.
